Just Cars is dedicated to providing you with all the information you require in order to ensure that you travel with piece of mind. The following terms and conditions relate both to rentals and to any optional insurance cover you may wish to take out.
The information set out below constitutes a description of the services provided by Just Cars, and may be subject to change.
Age and driving license
The driver named in the contract must be over 21 and hold a driving license which is over 2 years old. This minimum age requirement is likely to vary depending on the type of vehicle, the place of hire and the method of payment. Vehicles cannot be hired using a provisional license.
Methods of payment
We accept the following credit cards : Visa CB, Visa Gold, Euro MasterCard, Euro MasterCard Gold, all American Express cards.
For certain vehicles, rentals may be paid for by cheque or cash. In this case, you will be asked to pay a deposit upon collection of the vehicle. This will be calculated by rental cost (including all insurance and tax), plus the non-refundable excess. You will also be asked to produce two recent proofs of whichever address you provide. Payment made in convertible foreign currency will be valued at the then current exchange rate.
Documents required for vehicle collection
The driver must present to the Just Cars rental agency from which the vehicle is collected :
- proof of identity (valid identity card or passport)
- The original of his/her driving license
- The method of payment (see above)
- Evidence of address dating back no later than 2 months (electricity or landline telephone bill or a receipt for rent)
Another proof of address may also be requested in certain cases. Please have such documents with you. Where a second driver is included in the contract, he/she must ALSO present the above documentation when the vehicle is collected for rental.
Territorial validity
Just Cars vehicles hired in France may be taken abroad. This possibility applies exclusively to the following countries: Germany, Finland, Norway, Austria, France, The Netherlands, Belgium, Great Britain, Portugal, Denmark, Italy*, Continental Spain, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Beyond such limits, none of the insurance policies taken out or included in the package will be valid: in the event that an accident or theft, the customer will be liable up to the market value of the vehicle.
*Excludes "Luxury" and "Prestige" categories.
Prices
Include :
- Third party liability insurance
- Technical assistance around the clock and seven a week
- VAT at the applicable rate
The minimum period for invoicing is 24 hours. Any overrun exceeding 59 minutes will lead to the billing of an additional day.
Additional Just Cars charges To obtain a full description and the amount of such additional charges, please refer to the official notice posted in all Just Cars rental agencies (the “Notice”) or contact the Reservations Exchange on : 04 93 43 08 33.
Surcharges A surcharge applies to all rentals starting from an airport or railway station.
Additional driver supplement Any additional driver must be declared at the time the vehicle is collected. An additional fixed charge may be invoiced to the renter in accordance with the Notice.
Young driver supplement
With regard to and/or additional driver under 25 years old, a supplement will be charged for each day a vehicle is hired, at the pricing terms indicated on the Notice. Such supplement will only be applied to the first ten days’ rental.
Delay
In the event that the renter is late and where the Just Cars hire vehicle is collected out of the rental agency’s office hours a supplement may be charged in accordance with the pricing terms indicated on the Notice.
Personalized Fittings for private vehicles :
For you comfort and safety, Just Cars can provide you with ; a baby seat, a booster seat, snow chains or any other relevant equipment in accordance with the pricing terms indicated on the Notice. These items should ideally be ordered when reserving the car.
Carburant
The vehicle is hired to you with a full tank. Just Cars recommends that you fill up with fuel prior to returning your vehicle. Where this is not done, you will be billed for the amount of fuel needed to fill up the tank at the current price charged in accordance with the pricing terms indicated on the Notice, at the time the vehicle is returned.
Return of the vehicle The vehicle must be returned during the office hours of the Just Cars rental agencies. The renter will continue to be liable for any vehicle returned outside office hours until such time as the rental agency re-opens. Under no circumstances are the vehicle’s papers and keys to be handed over to anyone not connected with Just Cars.
Insurance and additional cover
Rental of a Just Cars vehicle covers its occupants for third party liability insurance and for being taken care of in the event that the Just Cars vehicle is immobilized. The customer remains accountable for property damage and theft of the vehicle subject to a maximum financial amount for which he/she is liable (see the chart below).

Terms and conditions for application of insurance policies
Failure to comply with the terms and conditions for application of the insurance policies referred to in the Just Cars rental contract will result in the cancellation of said policies. As with all insurance proposals, certain conditions are required and certain exclusions apply amongst which are: driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, use for racing or car rallies, failure to comply with the terms of the Just Car rental contract. These insurance policies are only valid in the countries authorized under you Just Cars rental contract. (Please refer to the general rental terms and conditions set out the back of the contract.
C.D.W :
Reduction in financial liability in the event that an accident to the Just Cars vehicle. This additional insurance corresponds to a partial redemption of the excess to be paid by the renter in the event that an accident for which he/she is responsible on damage to the vehicle by an unidentified third party. The corresponding amount varies according to the category of vehicle.
For the CDW to apply :
Irrespective of the damage caused to the vehicle, whether or not there is an identified third party, the customer must inform the rental agency from which the vehicule was collected as soon as possible and must, without fail, provide a duly completed accident report drawn up by the parties.
T.P.C :
Reduction in financial liability in the event that the Just Cars vehicle is stolen. This additional insurance corresponds to a partial redemption of the excess to be paid by the renter in the event that the vehicle is stolen.
In all cases, the customers will be billed for a reduced amount of excess. A full breakdown of the non -redeemable amounts for which a customer is liable is posted in Just Cars rental agencies.
For the TCP to apply :
Where the vehicle is stolen, the renter must file a formal complaint with the police authorities within 48 hours. They must then furnish the Just Cars rental agency with a receipt acknowledging the filing of the formal complaint as well as the vehicle’s keys and alarm device. When the vehicle is left unattended, it must be locked and personal belongings must be placed in the luggage compartments.
PAI and its application :
Personal belongings covered by the personal belongings and luggage insurance include items such as cameras, laser disk players, mobile phone, pocket computers and watches, as well as certain items of clothing and luggage. Items such as jewellery, furs, precious metals, easily breakable items or fragile items, contact lenses, money, goods and tools used for professional or business purposes are not covered. This additional cover only applies to the number of passengers the vehicle is authorized to carry. When the vehicle is left unattended, it must be locked and personal belongings must be placed in the luggage compartments. You must declare all and any theft to the police or local constabulary.
